PMS Irritability - Ask the Doctor Q & A
Can you help me? One to two weeks before my period, I'm irritable and not nice. My fiancé knows when to watch out. I try to control it, but I can't control it all the time. I've noticed that before my period, any little thing can set me off and I react. I don't want to have to explain to people, "Oh well, I'm PMSing," because I don't think that's a good excuse for anything.

Stephanie, of course I can't tell you that I know what you are going through. But I do believe 100% that your symptoms are real. While it's honorable that you don't want to use PMS as an excuse, many women do find it difficult or impossible to control their emotions and the words that come out of their mouths as a result of their PMS or PMDD symptoms. Because all too often people discount these symptoms, it's important to repeat: PMS and PMDD are real: it is not just your imagination. And because so often women are told "you just have to learn to live with it", I also want to repeat: There is an answer for PMS, a natural solution. And you don't have to just suffer with PMS or PMDD symptoms.
