PMS Bloating - Ask the Doctor Q & A
I wonder if you think PMS Comfort can help me. With my PMS, I get a pretty intense lower back pain. I mean, it's like you've been standing on your feet for 15 hours but you haven't been. It's pretty bad. I also get excessive bloating which just doesn't seem to go away. It's almost an entire pants size for me. It starts slowly and within a couple of days it's already full blown. It makes me feel fat! I have taken some over-the-counter stuff and that alleviates some of the lower back pain but it doesn't take away the bloating or the cravings.

Alison, I think PMS Comfort can help you, because it has helped other women with PMS symptoms of back pain, bloating, and cravings. I would also recommend that in the couple of weeks before your period, you cut back salt in your diet, including hidden sources like canned soup and restaurant food. Also, there are two great natural diuretics that have none of the side effects of water pills, and they happen to be superfoods you can find in most grocery stores. Dandelion greens, which most people prefer cooked, and parsley, which is much more than just a garnish! Both are excellent sources of potassium and Vitamin A (in the non toxic beta-carotene form) as well as a host of other healthy phytonutrients. You'll find more helpful tips in our PMS Bloating article.
