PMS Anger & Irritablity - Ask the Doctor Q & A
I have problems with anger during my PMS, where if someone irritates me I turn around and snap at them. I become angry and I snap at my children. It has also hindered my sex life: my husband is very aware that premenstrual week is just off-limits. I don't think that's necessarily fair, to me either, because we both like it. PMS also makes it hard to study. It creates anxiety for me, and I panic, or I become extremely lazy and I don't want to do anything. So I don't go to work, I don't clean, so it's been making it hard to keep my responsibilities going. I would like to be able to be more calm and happier during my cycle.

Jenna, PMS symptoms affect so many areas of life: emotional, thinking, even sex. And it's clear from your note that it is making you unhappy and not allowing you to be efficient in your life, and it sounds as if it is having an impact on your family as well.
It is trying when for days or weeks out of the month, you don't feel like yourself, plus you don't feel like you have control over what is affecting you.
I encourage you to take a look at the articles we offer to help educate and empower you about your premenstrual symptoms, and our programs are designed to help you feel more calm and happier.
